A RIVER SWIM & DAIRY ICE CREAM
Beautiful Alnmouth

MORNING

After a campsite breakfast, we went for a ramble with the dog to explore the area around the campsite in Warkworth (dodging inquisitive sheep) ending with squeals of shock as an impromptu dive into the River Coquet proved to be endorphin-inducingly chilly.

Having dried off, we piled in to the car and drove to Alnmouth. We skipped the town and headed straight for its stunning expanse of beach and estuary with gorgeous walks.

AFTERNOON

Pub lunch at The Whittling House fuelled us for an afternoon of sandcastles and bodyboarding at the bay, and we picked up treats at Scott’s deli on the way back to the car.

An ice cream at Morwick Dairy on the way home was the perfect end to the day. The kids made friends at the campsite while we cooked.
