A winter arctic adventure in Norway

Northern Lights! Huskies! Arctic beaches!

The winter light here is extraordinary. We visited in February when the light took on a jaw-dropping shade of pink as a distant sun peeped above the horizon, illuminating the surrounding ice-covered mountains, then morphed into an ethereal icy blue hue before the sun dropped again. 

We researched heavily beforehand to tap up the most knowledgable and experienced guides in the area so that every penny was well spent. Go for the huskies, reindeers, incredible scenery and northern lights, but don’t miss architectural gems in the city itself such as the Arctic Cathedral. With year-round festivals, the Arctic University of Norway and a thriving food scene, Tromsø is a very cool (pun intended) city.
