Last year I took the plunge and emigrated our family - and my fashion brand Yaitte - to Mallorca. We now live among the Tramuntana mountains, and even the changing clouds mesmerize the children. Mallorca has been my happy place for many years, but now that we have kids Sóller's shallow waters, gentle hikes and abundant nature have become the backdrop to our life. There is an unmistakable magic to the valley - a sense of calm, beauty, and quiet energy that is difficult to capture in words. Mallorca gets bad press for being touristy but come off season and follow our tips to get off the beaten track.

The Essentials

WHEN TO GO: It's glorious in shoulder season: May-June and September-October. Please do not visit in the summer! Mallorca suffers from overtourism.
