SETTLING IN
Entertainment in the evenings at Borgo Egnazia
MORNING
We flew out to Bari from Gatwick at 7.20am (a bit earlier than we’d like in hindsight, but flights are limited in May and October as it’s not peak season). We pick up our hire car and punch in our destination. Despite the tiredness from our early start, we’re so excited. On arrival at Borgo Egnazia an hour later, the concierge takes us to our 'casetta' (suite) and checks us in remotely from the room while staff bring pear juices for the kids, and tomato and olive focaccia and taralli.
AFTERNOON
We head to the pool to rest for the remainder of the day, where the children play in the two shallower kids’ pools and we grab some light lunch poolside.
EVENING
We eat early (pizzas for the kids, elderflower spritzes and artichoke salads for us) at L’Angoletto, the poolside restaurant. There’s entertainment in the square each evening. En route back to our room we stop to watch a mime artist and jugger who were asking kids to join in, and surprisingly, they all do.
